Youth aerial silks classes.

Fitness. Fun. New Friends. Caring Coaches.

Cirque Indy offers aerial silks classes for children ages 8 to 13. Our aerial youth classes will help your child develop strength and body awareness. Learning circus techniques gives kids a chance to test themselves and grow as they build self confidence and social skills in a non-competitive environment.

Having Aerial Equipment at Home

Your child’s safety comes first.

  • Cirque Indy does not support students with less than 1 year of experience training at home.

  • If you think your child is ready to start training independently, please discuss with your child's coach and reach out to us to learn about safe rigging practices and recommendations.

  • Material that your student learns in class is NOT appropriate to train outside of class unless the instructor gives specific approval.

  • If you have equipment in your home it must be secured when your student is not using it.  Children have strangled on equipment when unattended.  Just like a swimming pool, a child does not need to be alone for very long for a serious or even fatal accident to happen.  Fabric cannot be hung in basements or bedrooms where observation is not continuous.  Friends and siblings should also not have unobserved access to aerial equipment.

  • If you do decide home training set up is right for you, have a risk assessment plan, understand your liability, know how this addition will affect your homeowners, umbrella insurance, if loss or injury results from this activity will it be an exception to your coverage, and be prepared for significant expense of safe equipment of both a rig and a crash mat,

Where do we start?

  • This class is an introductory youth class. It is taught on aerial sling. It is not required to take the Taster before signing up for Aerial Stars (Beginner Youth), but it recommended for students looking for the opportunity to try aerial circus before signing up for a series.

    $15 for Youth Intro Class

  • Start here! No experience necessary.

Have a kid who wants to take aerial classes? Aerial Stars is an 8-week series that focuses on aerial fabric-based foundational material that is vital for new aerialists. It is taught primarily on aerial sling/hammock. There are no prerequisites for class, and anyone ages 8-13 may sign up. Students will begin building strength, body awareness, and stability in the air in a fun and encouraging environment. Come join the circus!

Students are required to take both the A and B Stars series and master all of the Stars material before they will be eligible for the next level. Coaches will notify students when they’re ready to advance. No make-ups are given for missed classes, but the instructor will do their best to help students learn missed material.

    $160 for 8-class series

  • Approval is required to sign up for this class.

Aerial Comets is a youth fabric class taught on aerial silks (split ribbon fabric). Students that have leveled up from Aerial Stars will continue their aerial journey on fabric, bringing their skills from sling and applying and building upon them. They will work on form, stamina in the air, and strengthening the muscles required to perform skills off the ground. Comets is an 8-week series and runs concurrently with Stars.

Students are required to take both the A and B Comets series and master all of the Stars material before they will be eligible for the next level. Coaches will notify students when they’re ready to advance. No make-ups are given for missed classes, but the instructor will do their best to help students learn missed material.

    $160 for 8-class series

  • Approval is required to sign up for this class.

Aerial Auroras is our advanced youth class. This class is multi-apparatus with a focus on aerial silks and encourages students to grow their strength and skills in new and exciting ways.

FAQs

  • Our registration software is Wellness Living. Here you will create separate accounts for yourself and your child. Then you will be able to register for the session of your choice. From the Wellness Living schedule, click the “series” tab at the top. From there, find the series for the dates and time you would like to sign up for and enroll.

Intro class passes can only be used to attend an Intro/Taster Class, not a series.

  • Please dress your child in long pants, capri pants, or substantial tights. T-shirts or Leotards are both acceptable! Clothing should be comfortable to move in, but should not be too loose where it can get caught on the apparatus.

Also, remember to bring a water bottle for your child. We do have a water fountain so re-fillable bottles are a great idea!

  • If your child misses class there are no make ups, so it’s important to attend as many as you can! Instructors will attempt to bring students who miss up to speed in the following class.
