Open Gym Rules – Open studio is a great time to work on strength conditioning, flexibility, and material that you have learned in our classes. Here’s the lowdown on how to use this training time.
Always Warm Up your Body
Want a better workout, better flexibility and to complete your mission without injury? Your warm up is the most important part of your workout. Make sure to emphasize the areas of your body that you will be using in your training.
Be a Good Neighbor!
Share the equipment if necessary. Do not teach other students. It may seem like you are just giving them helpful pointers but it can be a liability for you and the gym. If you are interested in teaching please talk to one of your coaches.
Exercise Caution
Design your workout for maximum safety. You must use a mat at all times when on the equipment during open studio. Please work at ground level when height is not required for the skill. If you want to practice a drop, unfamiliar skill or advanced maneuver get approval from a coach and utilize a spotter.
Involve your instructors! They are here to help you learn safely. Have a question? An idea on a variation? Ask your instructor. Please do not bring in unapproved instructional material. Please do not attempt new tricks without prior approval from an instructor. Violators will be asked to leave. This is a matter of safety and that is our highest concern.
